Timeshare Release Experts: Another Timeshare Exit Company to Approach With Caution

Timeshare Release Experts is another one of those timeshare exit companies that may appear during a one-off Google search. You see them once and then… and then what?

Fortunately for you, this article should be relatively short because, once again, they fit the criteria outlined in our blog post. In fact, there are enough red flags here that you should be careful and avoid them as much as possible.

Our criteria consists of:

1. Be Careful With Generic Company Names

“Timeshare Release Experts” is slightly the lesser evil as far as generic company names go. You can at least find their main .co page somewhere in the middle of search results that otherwise give you other companies or terms altogether.

And, of course, aside from that one .co website, nothing else is known about them.

That alone doesn't necessarily tell us everything we need to know about a company, but when there is so little identifiable information surrounding a business that claims to provide timeshare release services, it's certainly something worth keeping in mind.

2. Verify Reviews and Business Presence

This is where things become considerably more concerning.

Timeshare Release Experts claims to be accredited by the BBB and to have an A+ rating, despite there being no evidence that such an accreditation or rating exists, let alone a hyperlink leading directly to an actual BBB profile. Even searching the BBB database doesn't lead to any proof that they even have a profile.

They also list having been featured on NBC, CNN, US News, and even Quicken Loans for whatever reason. However, none of them have ever mentioned Timeshare Release Experts or appear to have any affiliation with them. There is no source, no proof, and no evidence provided to substantiate these claims.

But perhaps the most insulting part of their website is the claim that they have “hundreds of positive reviews” and that “their reviews and reputation speak for themselves.”

Except… they don't even have any.

When you go all the way into their website, they show supposed reviews from “various” websites that are simply written directly on-site. There are no links, no sources, and no way to independently verify where these reviews supposedly came from.

And then things get even stranger.

When you click on the images Timeshare Release Experts uses alongside these reviews, you'll find that they are the exact same images used by Stonegate—sometimes even outright keeping Stonegate's name.

That creates a rather strange dichotomy: Are they someone else, pretending to be Stonegate and using their assets while hoping nobody notices the mistake, or are “Timeshare Release Experts” simply another advertising branch for Stonegate?

Whatever the explanation may be, the underlying issue remains the same: the material presented on their website does not provide the independent proof you would expect from a legitimate, transparent business.

It's currently not possible to get any WHOIS information for Timeshare Release Experts, which makes the website's intentions even more dubious.

3. Other Red Flags

Pretty much everything described above is already a big red flag.

Their site is pretty much copied exactly from Stonegate's site. Even the disclaimer at the bottom of the page is copied from Stonegate's.

Worse of all, their website (TRE) isn't even fully functional.

Only the “Home” page works. Everything else they list—Help, About, Contact, FAQ, and so on—doesn't work at all. There are no pages.

Interestingly, their privacy policy page does work. They link to certain aspects of the page, or at least they were supposed to, but when you click on these links, they instead direct you to a website under “Colbert Media, LLC.”

And, just to be clear, this isn't about all the several other “Colbert”-related webpages out there. This particular one, using the colbertmedia.net domain, is completely empty and non-functional as well.

Everything about it screams abandoned template on both sides.

Final Thoughts

When you put all of these things together—the lack of identifiable information, unverifiable BBB and media claims, questionable reviews, the use of images associated with Stonegate, copied website material, broken pages, and the strange connection to an empty Colbert Media website—there are simply too many red flags to overlook.

It seems obvious enough that you should avoid Timeshare Release Experts as much as possible.
